The blogging world fills up countless hours of our day. To others we seem tech consumed, unapproachable and kind of boring. But to us, we have a whole life to live out on the opposite side of the screen. It’s exciting, adventurous and a bit risky. Risky enough to finish the day in the same pajamas from the night before. Nonetheless, we continue on with our dreams that will be worthwhile in the long run.
When we enter this new world, it can be easy to dismiss what matters. The self ambition that we have to make our blog successful takes hard work, just like any other job would. Many of us have a full time job and blog on the side, which means double the effort. It doesn’t take a full week to be completely exhausted. One day is sufficient enough. There’s many things we would like to do, but simply don’t feel like we have the time. The most important of those is prayer.
We are here to remind you why prayer should be on the top of your to do list, despite how jam packed your schedule may be.
1. Spiritual Protection
For your followers.
Salvation. Pray for their salvation or pray for the working out of their salvation. There are plenty of people ready to receive both. We need to pray so that the harvest can enter into salvation. We can teach, preach and minister all we need to, but it is our duty to pray as well. Pray for them to enter into salvation. Pray for their salvation to remain in tact. Pray for them to reach maturity in their walk with the Lord and not depart from it. Pray for an increase in fellow co-laborers to be put into the harvest. Please read Matthew 9:35-38 (NKJV).
Receiving the Word. We are sowers of the Word. We plant the Word as seeds into people. People receive these seeds differently. We need to pray for all of them to receive the Word on good ground and understand it in order to bear and produce fruit: many a hundredfold. Pray for the wicked to be unable to snatch away what is sown. Pray for them to understand the Word. Pray for roots to grow in those that hear. Pray for them to withstand tribulation and persecution. Pray for protection from the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches that choke out the Word. Please read Matthew 13:18-23 (NKJV).
For you.
Submission. As bloggers, we should always have an authority figure set in place. They watch over us as individuals and make us give accounts of our actions in our leadership position. They pray protection around us both spiritually and naturally. Pray for an authority figure if you don’t have one. Pray that they be filled with joy to rule over you. Pray for your submission to them. Pray for your readiness to give an account. Pray for profitability in the relationship, over you personally and professionally. Pray for guidance and wisdom so you don’t grieve the authority set over you. Pray for humbleness instead of pride. Pray for selflessness instead of being egotistic. Pray for the desire to please God instead of the love of money. Please read Hebrews 13:17 (NKJV).
2. Ministry
Teaching.
Delivering the Word. If you share the Word, you need to be able to handle it. Pray that you correctly handle the Word. Pray that God approves of your work. Pray for Biblical knowledge and wise counsel. Pray for Biblical correction. Pray for a sound mind and doctrine. Pray for God to create in you a clean heart. Pray for God to renew a steadfast spirit within you. Pray for protection against shame of misusing the Word. Please read 2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV).
Transforming hearts.
Anointing. Not one person can change a heart, but God’s power can. He removes stony hearts and makes them brand new. When delivering the Word, this is exactly what we need in order to change them. It is not the eloquent words we use to display God’s glory, but it comes from His glory and power alone. Pray for readers to have a changed heart. Pray for God to put a new spirit within your readers. Pray for God to remove all hearts of stone. Pray for all new hearts of flesh. Pray for the Word to pierce as far as the division of soul and spirit. Pray for your heart to be transformed. Pray for the anointing to rest upon the words you deliver. Please read Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV).
Walking worthy.
Real life. As a blogger, you must make sure where you go is where you want your followers to be. Pray to be filled with the knowledge of God’s will. Pray to be filled in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Pray that you might walk worthy of the Lord and His calling over your life. Pray you fully please Him. Pray that you will be fruitful in every good work. Pray that you will increase in the knowledge of God. Pray that you will be strengthened with all might. Pray for all patience and long suffering with joy. Please read Colossians 1:9-12 (NKJV).
3. Blessing
On your blog.
Success and multiplication. Pray that the Lord multiplies to the Kingdom through you as in the days of the early church. Pray for the success of your work. Pray for relationships and connections between followers. Pray that your connection with followers deepens. Pray for peace and likeness. Pray for individual and community growth. Pray for multiplication of content, products and people daily. Please read Acts 2:46-47 (NKJV).
Wages. Pray for your work to produce payment. Pray for all money that the enemy is holding back to be released. Pray for peaceful conversations between other companies and other professionals. Pray for easy and profitable business transactions. Pray for the right business partners. Pray for ideas for products. Pray for guidance on stewardship. Pray for the reminder on the importance of tithing. Pray for knowledge of investments. Please read Ephesians 6:6-8 (NKJV).
In your walk.
Inside work. Our fruit shows whose disciple we are. The work that we do tills our ground, plants seeds to grow and produce fruit. Pray that you continue to produce fruit. Pray that more fruit grow. Pray that the dead branches be burned. Pray that every fruit not pleasing to God dies. Pray that only good fruit will be produced. Pray that the Lord waters your fruit to ripen. Pray that the Lord teaches you how to be a true disciple. Pray that you grow fully mature. Pray that you are able to handle all responsibility given to you. Pray that you do the work of the Lord. Pray that you serve where He needs. Pray for favor. Pray for obedience. Please read John 15:8 (NKJV).

Yes, that is so true! The minute we get drained because of not spending enough time with God, the difference is evident. Good thing, too, because it acts as a reminder to go and get refilled.

Hi Taylor, thanks for this post. It is always a good idea to remember to pray about our blogs. Your right, it is so easy to get caught up in the business of life or the need to produce good content, that it is easy to forget to pray. It’s a good reminder to pray and focus on what having a Christian blog is really about.

Wow, the feels of how discouraging that can be are real. Trusting God has never been easy, but all we can do is continue to hope in Him even when He don’t see the fruits of our labor immediately!
